Faith Bible Institute of Biblical Studies Certificate Program

Each year FBI offers two Continuing Studies certificate topics. New students should complete the Biblical Foundations certificate courses before moving on to the various Continuing Studies certificate courses. For the 2009-2010 school year, these certificate programs will be the Certificate in the Great Commandment and the Certificate of the Study of the Nature of God.

Certificate in the Great Commandment

Certificate in the Great Commandment is offered on Sunday Mornings from 8:45 am until 10:15 am. The location is yet to be determined.

1st Quarter: The Theology of Love

The purpose of this course is to teach believers the importance of loving each other and mankind in general. The student will study love from a theological basis, discovering what love is and how to demonstrate it.

2nd Quarter: The Forgiving Church

This course is a biblical study of the impact of forgiveness as Jesus taught it. It focuses on the vertical aspect of forgiveness between man and God and the horizontal aspect between man and man. It also analyzes the negative aspect of the impact of collective unforgiveness that hinders the church from fulfilling the purposes of God.

3rd Quarter: The Father Loves You

This course is designed to increase one’s understanding of Father God’s love. Objectives include showing how Jesus came to make the Father known; understanding how to return the Father’s love to Him; and receiving a sense of security, direction and destiny because of the Father’s love.

4th Quarter: Spiritual Warfare

Our focus is to bring an understanding to the believer of the spiritual weapons they must fight with and the spiritual armor they must put on in order to gain victory in this warfare. This class will cover Ephesians 6:10-20.

Certificate of the Study of the Nature of God

Certificate of the Study of the Nature of God offered on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. The location is yet to be determined.

1st Quarter: Introduction to Christian Evidences

This course is designed to help the student gain a basic understanding of the field of Christian apologetics and answer legitimate questions concerning vital areas of Christian doctrine leading to a stronger faith.

2nd Quarter: The Nature, Essence and Attributes of God

This course will explore the Christian doctrine of God. Emphasis will be placed on an apology for God’s existence, the biblical description of His nature and divine essence. The divine Trinity will be discussed as well as the biblical names of God and the unique works of God as outlined for us in Scripture.

3rd Quarter: The Humanity of Jesus

This course is a study of Jesus as He appears in the Old and New Testament scriptures. His life and ministry are viewed from the vantage point of His human characteristics while remembering His divine characteristics. It also examines His prophetic office and portions of His present and future ministry.

4th Quarter: What Great Christian Writers Have Thought About God

This course teaches the theological and historical impact of ten books identified by Christianity Today magazine as the best Christian books of the twentieth century. A rich and wide variety of Christian thought about the nature of God will be examined.
